Pastor Forney, a native of Marianna Arkansas, is a licensed, ordained minister who has served in ministry for 31 years. He served as Children’s and Youth Pastor for New Joy for 8 years and assumed responsibility of Senior Pastor of this ministry in October of 2008. Pastor Forney holds two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He has worked in the Energy Industry for approximately 31 years.
Although Pastor Forney is bi-vocational, his first love is serving God’s people. Pastor Forney’s energy and capacity of love for God’s people spills over into his fellowship with the New Joy family. His attentiveness to the Ministry is one of sincerity and helpfulness. He believes in following the model and mission that Jesus left the church, “to make disciples”. Matthew 28:19 Pastor Forney strongly believes and stands upon the principal that Christ came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free. Therefore, he leads the way in setting an environment at New Joy Fellowship so that everyone that becomes a part of the ministry will truly experience Healing, Wholeness, and Growth in Jesus Christ.
